What changed
On 2 August 2026 the EU AI Act's Article 50 transparency rules start to apply, covering chatbot disclosure, synthetic content marking and deepfake labelling. Enforcement begins at both national and EU level, aimed at general-purpose AI models, prohibited systems, transparency obligations and AI literacy requirements. Measures supporting innovation begin their implementation phase on the same date.
