Indian AI hiring rose 16 percent while IT hiring fell

Naukri's JobSpeak report for June 2026, drawn from listings at more than 150,000 firms, records AI hiring in India up 16 percent year on year while overall IT jobs fell 3 percent over the same period. Across the fourteen sectors the report tracks, AI and machine learning roles rose 25 percent.

The Indian technology market is not shrinking and growing at the same time, it is moving, and one report will not tell you where it settles but it does tell you which way to walk.
